    1. [FO] Generating an index in WordPerfect
    2. Carol S. of the Irish Hills, MI and I sat down today at our mutual volunteer site today and figured out how to generate an index in WordPerfect. 1. Generate a Rich Text Format (rtf) in FO. 2. Open it in WP. 3. Go to the very end of the report AFTER the word "Index" 4. In WP click on Tools - Reference - Index 5. Define your index 6. Generate the index After you've done this your index will probably be in a large font. Before your first entry, click on the font size you want. Then to put in columns do the following: 1. Click on Format 2. Columns 3. choose number of columns. 4. Click ok. Anne K. Livonia, MI Anne (Percival) Kruszka

    1. [FO] Family Tree Super Tools & RM
    2. Kevin Hopkins Smith
    3. Anyone know whether Family Tree Super Tools will be usable by purchasers of RM? I use FO9 and FTST has proven to be a very valuable addition for its chartmaking capabilities. Since RM will be limited (understandably) in its initial release in the areas of FTST's greatest strengths, it would be nice to use FTST during the transition from FO to RM.

    1. [FO] FO 10; available for cheap?
    2. Kevin Hopkins Smith
    3. I'm using FO9 which I purchased for something like $10 when it was about to be supplanted by FO10. Although RM looks like the right move, I think I should upgrade to FO10 first in case there are problems in the early stages of RM. Is FO10 likely to become available now for something like $10? Where?

I suppose that the 910 subscribers we have right now might be the peak and the subscriber numbers will go down from here. Some people will keep on using FOW for several years yet, so this list will be available to them for some time. P.S. 1. [FO] User Lists Question
    2. D Wells
    3. Here are my observations of the subject. 1. I think the FOW list should be gatewayed to the RM list. The bulk of the RM list members are experienced FOW users. This will benefit straggerlers on FOW, new members who were sold FOW, and promote upgrades to RM. 2. Answers for FOW issues on the RM list should be automatically directed to both lists. 3. Conceptually, RM v1 is the logical path from FOW v10. This change will probably be less severe than the changes when FOW 4 went to the redesigned FOW 5. To most users RM v1 = FOW v11, even though this is not the real case. 4. At some point in the near future, the FOW list should become an alias for the RM list Dick > > There is one little problem though. There have been an quite a few FOW > questions on the RM list. 3. In my very humble opinion, most RMers were once FOers and possibly found out about RM from the FO list. Once RM is in the hands of all of us, questions and situation will be indicative of RM and not really apply to FO. By the same token anything RM would have no place on the FO list. For right now it is almost understandable that there is some mixing especially during the transition, but after an allotted time that you feel is reasonable, there will be no need for cross posting. What is on the list should take the hint from the name of the list. You allow enough OT to redirect someone who gets lost. For myself, I believe I'll be unsubbing from FO shortly after I get RM. 1. Re: [FO] Report Problem - non uniform spacing between facts
    2. smaxwl
    3. Bob, I had this happen quite a bit, also. And yes, it usually is because of what you said. Go into the fact source for that individual, click somewhere below your text in the blank area, and hit the backspace button on your keyboard until the cursor backs up to the end of your last bit of text. This will eliminate the extra spacing between facts. (If you decide you want ONE blank line between each fact, then ALWAYS end your text with one extra enter-key depression.) As for RM, the problem will still be there. Spaces and enter-key depressions are considered part of the text. Sue Bob BJORKMAN wrote: > I have an annoying problem when printing Individual Reports.
