    3. Hi Alfred, I enjoyed your analog about the donkey. Every time my impatience for V 10.0 to come in gets the best of me, I think about it and laugh. I agree with everybody that this is worse than waiting for Christmas! I'm sure the list will pick back up when V 10 gets into our hands and our computers. Then we will all have questions and new wishes. It's amazing how spoilt we get in such a short time! I wasn't paying enough attention at the version numbers and installed V8. on my new computer instead of V9 and put a gedcom into a new database. What a difference! I'm sure I will be just as spoilt to V10's new features in a month of using it. Laura ---- <I should apologize for my off topic, (and tasteless) attempt at humor. 1. [FO] FO10 - Hmmmm... nice greeting back.
    2. Hmmm...... I leave town for a few days and see what happens? The lack of FO10 turns them into animals, striking out at the FIRST, me. [laughing] Waiting for FO10 is WORSE than Christmas. We KNOW what the present will be and still have to wait until morning. Ggrrrrrrrrrrrr. Oh well. Being a family historian has taught me patience, if I can still find it in the den here. 3. I should apologize for my off topic, (and tasteless) attempt at humor. It looks as though nearly everyone has decided to stay quiet rather than take a chance on being the target of my rapier like wit. <GBG> I think I have figured out why the list is so slow. Paul posted a message stating that FOW 10 was in their warehouse, ready for shipping, and everyone is too busy running from the window, watching the driveway for the UPS truck, to the mail box to see if the mailman is coming, then back to check the driveway. After all that, we are all too tired to type anything. Or, have we gotten ALL of the problems solved in the 9 earlier versions. I see that Genealogy.Com has already got a listing for Family Origins Version 10 on their support page at: http://www.genealogy.com/help/ There are quite a few questions, pre answered in their knowledge base (so far they are the same questions as were there for 8 and 9) Always remember and don't ever forget, that there is a FormalSoft Message Board too. http://formalsoft.com/forums/ the Family-Origins-Users-Mailing list administrator Alfred Eller

    3. As the operation of this feature was explained, a single data element, the date, will be updated every time the Edit Individual window is Saved. No other information, such as what changed or by who, will be recorded. Since the database fact files are updated upon entry and the closing of the facts, usage of the Edit Cancel will not un-do these changes. All the Cancel button will do is prevent the date from being updated. No other changes have been made from the operation in the prior releases. This operation is very similar to how PAF implemented this feature. The date will be updated even if no changes are made to the individual and the Save, not Cancel is used to close the window.
