First, I should apologize to those who responded to my initial inquiry. I think I may have replied directly to them instead of going through this help list. I still cannot access my website. I've also noticed that when I try to access anyone else's website on Rootsweb I get the same message. Went to my sisters house and got my website on here computer with no problem. I am using Windows ME, MSIE 6.0.26.00, my computer is an HP and is less than a year old, I have 256K RAM and a 40 GB HD with 30 GB free. I tried some of the suggestions that were made. Emptied my cache and then typed in the address, still couldn't access it. Tried using the Refresh button along with the shift key. Nothing. I alsowent into Control Panel and tried the add/remove MSIE and checked the Repair Internet Explorer button but nothing happened there. Also updated my family tree in FO and created a new website and uploaded it using WS FTP LE. Still cannot access it. This really has me at a loss. I hope someone can help me. TIA Darold "Doc" M. Hi is there any way I can print the female line from daughter, mother, grandmother gt granmother. My daughter wants just the female lines with all their info and the males as tag-alongs or no males at all. regards Lynette http://digital.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo! I have been trying to use sources for any facts I add to an individual. However, I don't believe I understand the best/correct use of the source. I have 2 problems (to start with) 1. When creating a web site or a book with sources, I get many repeats. Can you correct your input to fix this? Example: 101. Ibid. page 838. 102. Ibid. page 838. 103. Ibid. page 838. 2. Is there a way to not include the citation in the source list at the end of a book? Sometimes the citation is long and I don't really want it listed. I just want the actual source. And finally, is there a way to print a list or find what records a source is used on? > Guy Snyder
Of course, as someone pointed out, the spouse doesn't "belong" in the Ancestor Book but if you want that info to be there, just put it in the note. Works for me.
When creating a book report you can un-check the citations detail under the check mark for sources. Creating a web page the only thing it shows is an option for sources nothing about citations. Under 'Lists", "Source Manager", highlight the source and select "print source". This will give you a list either to screen print or open in another program. Regarding your items 1. and 2., if you want to include sources but not the citation details, when you setup the printing options for printing a book report, UNcheck the box that says, "include citation details..." That will print your sources, but not the citations. (Pulldown menu REPORTS > BOOKS >) If you wish to omit sources altogether, then UNcheck also the box for "include sources" in the same window. To print a list to see where all a source has been used, go to the pulldown menu LISTS > SOURCE MANAGER. Highlight the source in question, and select the "Print..." button. I have no problem with any of the addresses you posted. I do know that RootsWeb has been working on their servers, but I didn't know that it extended to the ones with the FreePages on it. I checked out my site on FreePages and I can get to it and access it with the FPT program so it seems to be working find for me. Alfred D. I have the following "She Census 1900-1910-1920 B220 754000" appearing in error in an Ancestry Book I'm trying to edit. I can't find the source of this entry. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem? Thanks. Marvin Knotts, Columbus
I recently installed the Adobe Acrobat program. but have not yet tried to use it. Tonight for the first time since that installation I tried creating Family Group Sheets and a pedigree chart within FO in pdf format. The pdf files are not opening as usual, and when I go to Adobe Acrobat and try to open the saved pdf files from FO, it says there is an error in opening the file. In addition FO tries to open the pdf files to Word Pad instead of Adobe Acrobat. The Acrobat program uninstalled my earlier Adobe Acrobat Reader before the Adobe Acrobat program would install. Do any of the experts have an idea of what has gone wrong and how to get FO to again automatically open the PDF files? Margaret Scheffler

Is there something so different about XP that things work differently? Jocelyn is a list subscriber, she just sent this message to the "Request" address when she should have sent it to [email protected] With FOW and the Win 9X systems, you just start FOW, go to the File menu and select restore, point FOW to the backup file that you want restored, then show Family Origins which folder you want it restored to. I clicked on the top URL and came right to "Darold and Connie's Families". I suggest that you clear your cache or try a mandatory refresh. To perform a mandatory refresh, go to the web page by clicking on the link. If the same message comes up, click on the Refresh Icon while holding down the shift key.
