Nev, if you have FH V5 then run the Plugin "Show Project Statistics" http://www.family-historian.co.uk/pluginstore/plugin-entry?id=281 Among other anomalies it reports every "No Parents Family but with Children" In the final Result Set you can click on reported Item to open the Family Record. You may also discover many other anomalies derived from mistakes in times past. Alternatively, open the Families tab of the Records Window and click on the Family Records column heading while holding the Alt key. Any Family Record "...of (parents not known)" will come to the top. However, this will not discover other anomalies such as "One Parent Family without Children" or invalid Dates. With one of my GEDCOM files it returns a blank line of info except for a Ref.No. and 2 children I assume this is the result of an incorrect delete in times past. I have run the validate function with no errors found How do I identify this mystery couple so that I can delete the problem?
Mike, Thanks for the reply and I do have Version 5 - so I will get the plug-in and see what I find. I should have added I ran the "Find uncategorised data" tool which found a problem with the GEDCOM but with a 'real' family, and they had 10 children and not 2! We live and learn - I hope!
