Jane & Jeff Forgive me for jumping in and adding a bit of paranoia to this advice. Keep all your important stuff backed up on an external drive which is not normally attached to your computer, that is, attach the drive only when you need it and, if you are as paranoid as me, disconnect from the internet while it is connected. Secondly make sure your licence key storage is secure. I use an Open Source program KeePass to store all this stuff. It has the advantage of being portable, so as long as I can attach my drive to a Windows machine I can run the program and retrieve all my passwords, serial numbers etc. There are many other password storage programs.
