Hello Andy - you said you had traced a direct line of 100 generations which, of itself, is a mammoth achievement but, if so, what exactly is daunting if the tracing is already carried out? I would be more inclined to average out a generation as 20years maximum in view of life expectancy in by gone days - and my word, you are talking of long by gone whatever their occupation.
