    3. HELP!, I've just bought a new computer and want to move Family Historian 5 to it. I've tried copying my existing set up, entered my registration key (which was ok) but then was asked to re-install. I can't actually find the installation programme, that's why I copied it. I tried downloading the trial version from the internet, which was successful, but won't accept my registration key. Now what do I do? I bought v5 as a download version as soon as it came out. You will also need your V4 licence to install the upgrade. See http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=how_to:reinstall_family_historianfor a detailed guide. -- Jane. 3. HI Shelagh, There is a great deal of advice at the FHUG http://www.fhug.org.uk/ which is different from this FHU Email service. How to (Re-)install Family Historian is particularly relevant: http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=how_to:reinstall_family_historian It is not clear what you copied, but you MUST use a downloaded installation file. It may be best to remove whatever you have copied as that could upset things. If the V5 Download you bought was a Full Licence (NOT a V4 to V5 Upgrade) then the V5 Free Trial download should work. But if you bought the V4 to V5 Upgrade then you MUST use the original download. The FHUG link above has advice about how get the download again from Calico Pie and how to archive it safely!!! Essentially you E-mail [email protected] and give the details of when you bought V5 and thee-mail address you used. The FHUG link above also has advice about how to move your Projects and your customised settings from PC to PC. http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=how_to:move_settings There is the Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings Plugin to help you.
