I use FH as my main repository for family history data. However, this data is sent to TNG to display on my own web site. This week I received an email from a cousin saying that she was surprised to find that in her record on TNG, there is a "Died" event which states "Yes, date unknown". When I looked in FH, sure enough there is a death event with no data. The appropriate line in gedcom contains: "1 DEAT Y" - and the next line moves on to another event. Looking further, I find that I have over 1000 of these. I have tried to use a query to identify these in the hope that I can remove them all at a stroke, but my understanding of queries is perhaps inadequate, and I have failed. Can anyone suggest how how I should remove these phantom deaths. And, further, how I can prevent their re-occurrence? Thanks for any help. On you query Columns tab add a column for Death and then on the Rows tab a column to do the death date file contains text 'Y' Then just select the Death column on the results and press the delete key. -- Jane. <<snipped>> The appropriate line in gedcom contains: "1 DEAT Y" <<snipped>> As an aside, this really fouls up the online trees on Ancestry as "Y" is a place in France (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y,_Somme ) and many (all?) these people are shown as having died in France. Adrian
