Dave I also use FH/TNG and have seen this in the past. My conclusion was that it had been created on export from Legacy software. For a while I was using Legacy import/export as the easiest route to creating a GEDCOM with only "basic" BMD data*, but perhaps could also be added via an imported twig from someone else? That wasn't the case with mine, as I do not add other people's GEDCOMs as such. *still do when required, but the data don't go to TNG. Sorry, can't help with removal.
