<<snipped>> Those "detailed search forms" have some fields missing that are actually on the generic search forms Adrian, so I wouldn't call them "detailed". In fact, I can't see any rhyme or reason which form has which fields. <<snipped>> Hah! "If you think you know what's going on here, you clearly don't..." Thanks for that Tony. Adrian
Thanks for those comments, Adrian and Tony. The new FMP census search has been diving me crazy. Glad to know I'm not the only one! Why on earth weren't these problems sorted out during testing? Lorna
Hi all I wish FMP & Ancestry would listen to the old maxim "if it ain't broke don't fix it" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike in a grey Droitwich
Their infrastructure had a lot of problems so they had to make changes to fix them. However, I'm rather staggered by the lack of thought that has gone into the revised UI. There are people spitting blood on the newsgroups. The last time I looked at their feedback page (http://feedback.findmypast.co.uk/forums/222583-ideas-and-improvements) reinstating old & missing functionality had nearly 2000 votes, dwarfing all other suggestions. I've been keeping an eye on their new progress page for rectifying things (http://new.findmypast.co.uk/articles/help/whats-new) but none of my issues seems to have been addressed yet.
