Isn't the answer to remove them from the GEDCOM with a global delete? Martin -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Dave Foster Sent: 21 April 2014 07:44 To: [email protected] Subject: [FHU] Phantom deaths. How to prevent/remove? I use FH as my main repository for family history data. However, this data is sent to TNG to display on my own web site. This week I received an email from a cousin saying that she was surprised to find that in her record on TNG, there is a "Died" event which states "Yes, date unknown". When I looked in FH, sure enough there is a death event with no data. The appropriate line in gedcom contains: "1 DEAT Y" - and the next line moves on to another event. Looking further, I find that I have over 1000 of these. I have tried to use a query to identify these in the hope that I can remove them all at a stroke, but my understanding of queries is perhaps inadequate, and I have failed. Can anyone suggest how how I should remove these phantom deaths. And, further, how I can prevent their re-occurrence? Thanks for any help.
