    3. Jackie asks: I would like to include a note on the origins of our family names. However I want this to be general to all the persons with the birth name, and not attached to a single person or couple. Is there a way I could do this? Yes Jackie, there are several alternatives. You could create a shared Note Record and link that to the Individual Record of everyone involved. Use the Note tab of the Records Window or use main menu Add > Shared Note to create the Note Record. On the Notes tab of the Property Box, click Add Note and choose Add link to Note Record for each Individual. In most Reports you can choose whether to include such linked Note Records or not. (You can also link such Note Records to the Name field of each Individual, but these are not available in most if any Reports.) Alternatively, you could create a Source Record that not only contains text but allows Multimedia images to be attached. This can be cited by the whole Individual Record or Name field or any Fact of everyone involved. To add the citation select <whole record> or Name from the Sources dropdown list in the yellow sources pane of the Property Box. Then use the Add Citation button as usual and initially use New to create the Source and subsequently select the same Source. This Source Record will appear amongst all the other Source Records in most Reports. Regards, Mike Tate
