Mike, not sure where to go from here with linking media on the new Mac with Parallels. After a lot of experimenting, I have found that it really only works is to put the FH Projects folder back under the Documents folder and not just stored on it’s own on the hard drive. But then it only links media when stored in the FH Media folder, not outside the Media folder. Surely this is a bug in Family Historian 6? It’s completely unacceptable to use the Media folder as half my media can’t be stored there due to the Path and file names being too long. My old FH Vers 5 worked perfectly linking files outside the Media folder, although that was on a PC, not a Mac. Also, not sure what the Refresh button under the External File Links dialogue box is supposed to do, as it doesn’t appear to refresh anything. Having just purchased this new version of FH, it’s a rather expensive white elephant. Any suggestions are most welcome. (Mac & Parallels) The only way I can link some media is to do each person separately, this can?t be correct. If I try to select the main folder that all the media is located in for a project and point it to the new location of that folder, it does nothing. (This is outside the Media folder of FH) If I try to select all the sub folders under the main folder, FH won?t allow this. I?ve read all the articles and watched the videos, but I?m obviously missing something. I?ve used FH since its second version and never had this much trouble. Surely you can point the main folder that all the media is located in to a new location without doing it a person at a time?
