Hi, Could someone help me (a newish user) with a problem. Amongst the several long strings of sibling boxes side by side, on just two such strings there appears an empty box with just the name only and then the line dropping from the box and along underneath to the full box with b.m & d details. This has the affect of lengthening the sibling string as well as looking rather odd. I hope this makes sense? Robin
Hi Robin, As a newish user, have you discovered the FHUG website with Forums, Knowledge Base, Tutorial Videos, Downloads, and much more all free. http://www.fhug.org.uk/ This topic has been discussed there several times, and only arises in All Relatives Diagrams. The box you mention is called a Proxy Box and only applies where the sibling is partner to someone with their own family relationships shown in the diagram. The idea is that the Proxy Box shows the person within their Parent & Sibling family group as a sibling. While the Ancestor/Root Box shows the person within their Partner & Children family group as a partner (spouse). In some simple cases, to our human eye, the Diagram could be simplified without Proxies, but the program software has to cope with the general case.
