    1. [FHU] A tricky Descendant Diagram
    2. Marion Woolgar via
    3. I am using Family Historian V6.0.4 and Windows 7 and I am trying to find a way of fitting a quart into a pint pot. I have to produce a two-generation Descendant Diagram showing a couple and their 18 children plus their spouses. The problem is that I need to be able to print the entire Diagram onto a single sheet measuring 24cm by 17cm landscape and the font needs to be 10pt to conform to a particular style scheme. The only way that I think this might be achieved would be to effectively "word wrap" the second generation to snake it down the page. Is there any way that this can be done, please? 3. You can't do a "word wrap" but you could change the shape of the diagram by using the Movement Control Box (Click the second icon from the right in the Diagram toolbar). Select the 'Box and Bar' move, and then click-and-hold the mouse on alternating children to drag them, with their spouses, downwards until the siblings each side of them have space to move sideways into the gap. You should be able to end up with 9 of the 18 children placed at a lower level. The result will be a digram that is deeper but not as wide as the original. I hope that makes sense - it's easier to do than to describe! 3. You could try using the Diagram > Options and on the General tab set Orientation to Left-Right. That way the boxes tend to use less space and on a landscape page reads better. You can also still use Lorna's 'Box & Bar' technique if necessary.
