If I understand correctly, you simply open FH which defaults to the Focus Window, and then open the Records Window which defaults to the Individuals tab, and that produces the 'No record selection' error message box. Try using 'Tools > Preferences > Workspaces' and reset it to 'Installation Settings' then close and re-open FH. As a matter of interest do you have the File Root set to an Individual or not?
