    3. Hi Fiona, This is a common problem with FH V6 GEDCOM that now uses Unicode UTF-16 encoding, which is often not supported by other genealogy products. See http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=glossary:gedcom The FH V6 command "File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File" offers Format: ANSI and UTF-8 encodings, etc, that are more widely supported, but many of the FH V6 dialect GEDCOM structures are not recognised by such as Ancestry. Therefore, it is better if you use the "Export Gedcom File" Plugin that has an option specifically for "(ANC) Ancestry Family Tree" that preserves as much as possible in Ancestry dialect GEDCOM. See http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=plugins:help:export_gedcom_file:export_gedcom_file Regards, Mike Tate -----Original Message----- Subject: [FHU] Ancestry.co.uk I have recently done some research for a friend which I gave her as a GEDCOM file from FH6. She has tried to upload it onto Ancestry but it is telling her it is NOT a GEDCOM. I have had a look at FHUG and all I can see is about using Ancestry and FTM. Has anyone successfully loaded straight from V6 to a new tree on Ancestry? Thanks Fiona
