    3. Phil, If I am reading your question correctly, and i apologise if im not, when you have an individual in the focus window, click Edit and Unlink from, you can them unlink yourself and and your siblings (one at a time) from the marriage of your father and step mother. -----Original Message----- From: family-historian-users-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:family-historian-users-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Phil Bibbings Sent: 16 August 2011 16:22 To: FAMILY-HISTORIAN-USERS@rootsweb.com Subject: [FHU] Technical Question Hello, I am new to the family Historian program and am just getting to grips with it. It looks as though it is going to be a very useful tool in my family research. Despite not being the most computer literate of people it seems quite straightforward and I have found the guide very helpful. However I have come across a problem which I cant seem to resolve and I hope someone here can help. The problem lies with the 'ancestors' tab of my own focus page. When I go to view this screen my parents are shown as my father and my step mother. I would prefer it to show my natural mother. My father married twice and my brothers and I are from his first marriage. On the first section of my fathers focus page I have showed us as the birth children of his first marriage. I have also linked us all to his second marriage showing us as birth children to father and step children to his wife. So we are all linked to both family groups. Is the only way to rectify this to unlink all 3 of us from his second wife? Or is there another way around it? Hope someone can help Phil ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to FAMILY-HISTORIAN-USERS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Hi Phil, I have a similar situation in my tree where I'm linked to 2 fathers - one birth and one adopted. Try this... Go to your own record and in the properties box and select the 'All' tab. Look for the two Parents family rows and swap them by using the Up/Down arrows in the top right of the properties tab. I hope this helps.
