You should be able to use the standard "Contains Text" Query, on it's own or use the results from it to populate the Report Record selection. So select Individual Summary, then on the Record selection use Add using Query and run the Contains Text query and enter the result you want. If you want to select additionally by letter of the Alphabet just copy the Contains text query to a new one and add a Exclude unless Surname starts with, set as a parameter and select the letter as you go.
