I would be very grateful for help regarding a problem I am experiencing. Having bought the excellent booklet "Where to Record It", I followed the instructions therein and added images using the "Add" button, and then going for the copying option. Initially I tried using photos I had taken of parish record pages, but found them very unclear when viewed in Family Historian, so then saved them as PDF files and copied them across, which displayed very well indeed. However, when I deleted the images from my memory stick, the next time I turned on FH, the PDF files were no longer there, so my first question is, are the files in fact not copied into the programme, but in fact picked up from the source when required? Secondly, I have today tried to replace the images, using, as before, the "Add" and then "OLE Object" whereupon an error message comes up saying: "This action cannot be completed because the other programme is busy. Choose 'Switch to' to activate the busy programme and correct the problem." The three button options are "Switch to", "Try again" or "Cancel" but this last one is greyed out and thus it's not possible to use. When I click on either of the other two, the box just flashes the same error message at me; if I try to close the box by clicking on the x in the top right hand corner of the box, it merely makes a "ting" sound and nothing happens. I have to force my computer to shut down to get out of the loop. Any advice gratefully received. Penny Haysom
