My pdf's are usually things like certificates or census images, and I add pdf's in as documents. The Multimedia page shows pdf's as an icon, which then open with Adobe Reader. I link these documents to a source not the person, as they are not images of an actual person. I have jpegs of census images and of people and places. I add in jpegs as pictures, but the jpegs of censuses are linked to sources whereas photos of people are linked directly to the person, so that I can add cropped versions to people in diagrams. This is how I do it, but other people may have different ways:) Regards Julie
