Ian's suggestion would be useful if this situation arises a lot, but if this is just a 'one-off' job you could use 'Save Diagram as..' and choose PDF file and put it on a memory stick to transfer to the other computer. Thank you all for the good advice. Now a few hours after I first posted the query, I realize that the solution "Save diagram as" is something I should have been able to work out for myself. But I had got bugged by my inability to fit a FH diagram onto the minimum number of pages. My solution to this problem was to load the gedcom into old faithful Generations in which it is so simple to move the diagram or parts of it to fit on a page. I shall keep trying to find a similar method in FH. I'm sure it will be there but it is not immediately obvious. > I had got bugged by my inability to fit a FH diagram onto the minimum > number of pages Did you mean minimum or maximum? Anyway, it sounds like you're wanting to scale diagrams. There are various ways of scaling diagrams in FH. Here are 3 alternatives: (1) Adjust the Scaling setting in the 'General' tab of Diagram Options. or (2) click on "Scale Diagrams to Fit Exact Number of Rows Per Page" (to find this click on the Diagram menu, and then "Pages Row/Columns & Boxes"). This option (unlike the other two) requires that boxes are resized so that all rows end up the same height. or (3) click on "Show Page Boundaries" (same location as in (2), and then using the RIGHT mouse button, click-and-drag on any grid intersection. This appears to rescale the grid of page boundaries, but in fact is rescaling the diagram to fit). Having changed the scale of the diagram (and don't confuse 'scale' with 'zoom' - the latter is just how big the diagram looks on-screen), you are likely to want to reposition it on the printed page. Again there are various ways you can do this. Here are two alternatives: (A) Same as (3) above but use the LEFT mouse button to click-and-drag on a grid intersection. This appears to move the grid of page boundaries, but in fact is moving the diagram relative to page boundaries. or (B) Click on "Movement Control Box" on the Diagram menu, and then click on "Tree" in the dialog appears. After doing this, click-and-drag on any box to move the entire tree relative to page boundaries. It is a good idea to enable the display of page boundaries before you do this, so you can see what you're doing. There is a toolbar button as a quick way of enabling/hiding page boundaries. To learn more, I recommend having a quick look at "Chapter 11 - Scaling & Printing Diagrams" in "Getting the Most From Family Historian 4" (accessible from the Help menu). It's very short but you don't even have to read it all. You can see from the headings on the left side (or the Contents page) exactly what it's about. You can also move parts of trees around (or have multiple trees in one diagram). See "Chapter 10 - Smart Trees and Wall Charts" for everything you need to know about that (and much more as well).
