Or simply run Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup that comes with Windows. Another culprit is the Recycle Bin which is also usually up to 10% of the disk. So with IE cache that may be up to 20% of disk, and then there are often Temporary files to delete too. -----Original Message----- From: family-historian-users-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:family-historian-users-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Jane Taubman Sent: 04 January 2012 21:27 To: family-historian-users@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [FHU] Old versions of FH If you are sure all the things in your old folder have been moved to your Project folder then Yes. I would be surprised if your FH data was taking up a large percentage of your hard disk even if it's a small disk. You might want to check out some of the other common disk space wasters such as the old update folders in windows, or the Internet explorer cache (which on earlier IE versions used to be 10% of the disk). So I would look at them first, using a program like CCleaner can often improve clogged machines. Hi Beryl/Mike, I'm a good deleter and keep up with the housework & recycling - recycle bin empty and disc clean-up in regular use. It was just the double up on the old Family Historian and new Family Historian Project folders, and associated media, that attracted my attention, which I will delete as everything that's relevant is in the FH Projects folder.
