Russell snip : "Outlook can sometimes do some strange things without apparent reason, and the fact that it only happens in Outlook strongly suggests that it is the culprit!" I've always had the same problem and have never used Outlook. I use Thunderbird. So it's not just an Outlook problem as suggested. John That doesn't change my suggestion - in the case under discussion, Outlook was the only reader the poster used which was causing the problem which was why I limited myself to that software. Another suggestion I have seen is to make sure that the option to automatically download mail periodically is unchecked, if you do manual Send/Receives. Perhaps Outlook sometimes does both in a very short period of time, before the message has been deleted by the ISP. Finally, a repair of the Outlook data file using the Microsoft tool SCANPST has helped others, as has making sure that you have all the Outlook Service Packs, not just Windows XP (Go to Check for Updates in the Help menu) Russell -----Original Message----- From: family-historian-users-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:family-historian-users-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of John & Ellen Owen Sent: 04 January 2012 19:56 To: family-historian-users@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [FHU] FH emails Russell snip : "Outlook can sometimes do some strange things without apparent reason, and the fact that it only happens in Outlook strongly suggests that it is the culprit!"
