Hi Rod Have you checked your Rules in Outlook? I had a similar problem with another list and discovered that when I had reloaded Windows XP SP3 and Outlook 2003 some of mine had been corrupted and instead of filing a copy in my Genealogy folder for future reference, it was creating a second copy in my Inbox. Probably the simplest thing to do if you find a Rule referring to these messages is to delete it and recreate from scratch if you still need it. Hope that this is of some help. Outlook can sometimes do some strange things without apparent reason, and the fact that it only happens in Outlook strongly suggests that it is the culprit! Nothing I do seems to alter the situation (change ISP, change email provider, unsubscribe and resubscribe, change computer, ask Jane T, etc, etc). I only see the duplicated emails when downloaded to Outlook; when received into Gmail (or previously BT Yahoo) there is the regulation one of each. Gets very tedious but I'm now accustomed to going through the day's input and deleting half of them. Doesn't happen on any of my other lists. For comparison, I'm using Outlook 2003 under Windows XP SP3. All the best for 2012 - Rod
If you're running rules for FH emails, you need to ensure one of the advanced options is selected. Go into Rules and Alerts and select the rule for your FH emails. Click on Change Rule, then select Edit Rule Settings. This will open the Rules Wizard. Click on the Next button and ensure the 'Stop processing more rules' option is ticked. That should work. It's worked for me in the past, and I always ensure that option is ticked whenever I create a new rule. Presumably as a result of this, I no longer receive duplicate emails. Hi Russell - Thank you for your advice. I'm pleased to say, having waited for some FHU emails to arrive so that I could be sure I was on safe ground, that you were right. I deleted my FHUG rule in Outlook, which did not appear to be corrupted, and re-entered it with a slight enhancement to specify from which email account the FHU messages would be coming. It now works correctly, and my years of duplicate deletion should be over. Incidentally, three other rules showed up as corrupted (I have deleted them) so perhaps there was in fact a problem with the FHUG rule. Can't think why I didn't do this earlier! Many thanks, and best wishes for 2012 - Rod -----Original Message----- From: family-historian-users-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:family-historian-users-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Russell Ridout Sent: 04 January 2012 00:51 To: family-historian-users@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [FHU] FH emails Hi Rod Have you checked your Rules in Outlook?
