Peter it appears that what you needed to do was merge the 2 families to give one set of parents and 5 children. This is simply to do in FH and does not require you to use AS. Without knowing how you tried to fix the problem of 2 families it is difficult to suggest how you can correct your current file. Do you have a backup created prior to trying to correct the problem that you could restore from. If so you just need to restore from the backup and merge the 2 families. Go to  Edit them Merge/Compare Records and select both family records. Hope this helps. Will try to steal the nerve to tackle AS next as Michel suggests. In my previous message I mentioned saving to a "Temporary Folder" which should have read "Temporary Directory".  I hadn't called up this and didn't know there was such a "Directory" - is there an explanation to read up for why FH chose to locate the record there? Thank you for your prompt help. Peter ------------------------------ To contact the FAMILY-HISTORIAN-USERS list administrator, send an email to FAMILY-HISTORIAN-USERS-admin@rootsweb.com.
