I am trying to create a descendant chart with only some of the spouses showing, so to do this I have hidden those spouse boxes I do not require. However in one case there is a female direct descendant who had two husbands with one child from each marriage. I would like to show both of these children as they are the direct descendants, but when I hide their respective fathers' boxes, the children disappear. I have used the option of each spouse in own box. I notice that if I use the option of no spouse information, then then both children are shown with the mother. However that option removes all the spouse information from the rest of the diagram. Is there any way I would be able to work around this and show these two children? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Susie
I have tried to replicate this, however I found that in the case of two husbands / partners of a woman only the family of the first partner hidden disappears. Meaning if I hide partner number two first his descendants disappear, and when hiding partner one his descendants remain, and vice versa. I would suggest that if you are only hiding some spouse information anyway, that you keep both of them in this particular instance. If you are hiding spouses to keep the chart tidy why not go for one box per marriage / partnership?
