    3. This is not an issue about being 'politer', it's an issue of being disappointed. When? It might be more relevant (to say nothing of being politer) to ask how much truth there is in the comment in the My History newsletter. (I've haven't seen it, so don't know exactly what it says.) And even a non-techie like me knows that everything can be going swimmingly until a serious bug is found almost at the last minute. Simon won't release v.5 until he's happy that it's as bug-free as the beta-testers have found it can be. 3. I rarely comment on the list, but feel that as an IT professional I think that I should on this occasion as Pam is absolutely correct in what she says. Any delay in a software release is unwelcome to users and developers alike. However, it is absolutely the correct thing if testing is incomplete or has revealed a serious bug. Whatever the pressure, it is bad practice to issue a product that still contains known bugs. In addition, whilst a delay is unfortunate, it is preferable to possibly compromising the integrity of data. Previous releases have also been delayed by a few months and when they have been released have proved to be stable and reliable. 3. Thank you for the link, from which is it obvious that the news of the delay is from a reliable source as they virtually paraphrase Simon. Unfortunately your message read as more of anger than disappointment. A simple 'Now it is February, I had been eagerly anticipating the imminent release of v.5 so I was very disappointed to read in this morning's My History newsletter of a delay' would have been sufficient. Whilst giving the link at the time would have put everyone fully in the picture.
