However, I wouldn't wish to have things like Wangford [RD], Suffolk, England and Wangford, Suffolk, England because of the apparent duplication and because the first isn't a place.>> This is very true, however if you aren't 100% sure that the event actually did take place in Wangford and not Weston, Willingham or Worlingham there is a very valid reason for using Wangford [RD] until the true place of the event can be ascertained. I use Prescot [RD] until I know exactly where the event took place as two families lived in Huyton, Whiston and Prescot and moved round those places quite happily, but there is a world of difference between them.
