    3. Trevor, In addition to that, use the following guide to migrate all your FH Projects and Settings: http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=how_to:family_historian_migration_guide Use either a CD or download of 'V4 to V5 Upgrade' with both your V4 and V5 licence details. Regards, Mike Tate -----Original Message----- Subject: Re: [FHU] Migrating FH to a new laptop Trevor: The following link to the FHUG site will lead you to much information about installing FH. I think there is more information about installing on Macs elsewhere on the site - but the key point is that you should be using your v4 to v5 upgrade disc not the v5 download. 3. It's not quite the same with Yahoo groups. A group which I own sends replies by default only to the group ("All members" setting). Another group I belong to sends replies by default to the originator ("Sender" setting). It depends on what the group owner set up. There is also a setting "All Members and Sender" which would give the two messages result. 3. I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email client and it offers two options when replying to a message from the list. Selecting 'reply' will send the reply to both the list and the personal email address of the sender of the original message. Selecting 'reply list' will send to the list only, for onward distribution. I imagine other email clients may have similar options. I am sending this message the second way, to the list only. However, it sounds as if Valerie is receiving two copies af ALL messages (not just those which are replies to her own) so the problem may be a different one. 3. Unfortunately, it is the way Rootsweb is currently distributing mailings. They include both your personal E-mail address and the FHU Rootsweb address. So when users "Reply" a message gets sent to both addresses and you get them both. The only advice is to suggest that when users Reply they delete the personal E-mail address from the To... line. There is nothing you the sender can do about it, other than include the above advice in your message. 3. Is it all messages or just those that are replies to your messages? You should, I hope, receive only one copy of this message. When someone replies to a Rootsweb message the reply goes to both the list and the sender of the original message, unless the "To:" field is changed to delete one or the other. I'm sending this using Windows Mail and changed who the reply destination ("To:") to just the group.
