Then either use the 'Marriage' Event to represent Civil Partnership or create your own Custom 'Civil Partnership' Event. I am not clear how selecting *unmarried couple* provides a workaround. Regards, Mike Tate Thanks Mike and ColeValleyGirl. Yes I have ensured that both partners are of the same gender and I have V4. The couple are not in a civil partnership but when I produce an individual summary report there is reference to them being married and I cannot work out how to rectify this. I have created a partnership event on Mike's advice which shows up on the report but it still insists on calling the partner a 'spouse' and the couple in a marriage. Actually this is not an issue about single sex relationships but about how FH describes couples who are not married. Is there a way of producing reports that accurately record a partnership rather than a marriage? * * * * *James Pam*

    3. You say you "click on remap within the project folder and choose the folder I want it in. Nothing happens." I presume by "Nothing happens" you mean the X remains against the file(s). You cannot choose a folder where you would like the file(s) to be stored. You must choose the folder where each multimedia file is currently actually stored. Move the multimedia files into the 'Media' folder or sub-folders first, then use 'Work with External File Links' to correct the mapping. Furthermore, the filenames in 'Work with External File Links' must be identical to the actual filenames. You can use the 'Edit' button to correct them if necessary. Only when the path in 'Work with External File Links' exactly matches the actual file path, will the associated X vanish. 1. Re: [FHU] Multimedia
    2. Beryl & Mike Tate
    3. Pamela, With Projects you can link to Multimedia in two ways. (1) Relative Links Multimedia stored in the Project 'Media' folder can be linked via relative links such as Media\Charlotte 2nd Birthday. If the whole Project is moved or copied from one folder, drive, or PC to another, then these links remain correct. (2) Absolute Links Multimedia stored anywhere else can be linked via their full path from drive letter through the folder hierarchy to the media file. These absolute links become broken if the Project is moved or copied to an external drive or another PC, unless the full path to the media file remains exactly the same, which is unlikely or impossible. It is advised that all links should be Relative Links. Assuming your example path is correct, you should NOT be storing media files, or anything else, in the C:\Program Files... folder hierarchy. Move such media files into your Project Media folder and use Tools > Work with External File Links to Re-map within Project Data Folder. 3. You should not be storing any of your files in the Program File folder. I would recommend copying that multimedia folder inside your Media folder in the project and then use the Work With External File Links tool to remap the multimedia folder in to the media folder. 3. This is a useful tip I didn't know about. Just to clarify what Jane said: when you hold down the ALT key you need to double-click on the record NAME, not on the main expansion button for the record. (ALT + double click on the expansion button still only expands the first level). 3. Could sks help me please? On the tabs "individual" "notes" "sources" & "repositories" all entries have expansion buttons next to them. If I have more than one button expanded within a tab I know that I can close them all at once by clicking on the top bar. Is there a way of opening all of the expansion buttons together within a tab, so I don't have to keep clicking on individual ones? I have looked everywhere I can think of for an answer, but I'm probably not asking the question correctly! Am using FH v 4.1.3 Thanks Sandra.

    3. On the Rows tab Add a filter such as Exclude if =FactLabel(%FACT%) matches 'Marriage' i.e. Condition: Exclude if... Expression: =FactLabel(%FACT%) Operator: matches Value: Marriage If you tick the Parameter option and enter a Label such as Fact Name then you will prompted to choose the type of Fact to Exclude. Switch the Condition to Exclude unless... and only Facts that match the value will be included. Regards, Mike Tate Thanks Mike - I had been trying something like that but never quite hit the mark!
