Owner from abt 1845 to 1879 was George Fairbairn, b 1796 in Haddington. I think it may have belonged to his father, Robert, before then. They were connected in some way to a Helen Burleigh, who is listed as a Hotel keeper, and she had a son John Burleigh who was later adopted by George Fairbairn. Is anyone connected to these people, or can anyone tell me anything about the Black Bull. George was married to Isabel Brown.She and John Burleigh enjoyed Life rent of the hotel after George's death.
