It seems that I may be a distant relative of Walter FAIRBAIRN, for 37 years (until 1931) coxswain of the lifeboat at Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland. See http://www.elothian-museums.demon.co.uk/harvest/lives3.htm I think my g-g-g-grandfather Walter RUNCIMAN 1785-1851 was grandfather of Walter FAIRBAIRN, so I would like to get in touch with present-day descendants of Walter or his brothers & sisters, children of Peter FAIRBAIRN (b.abt.1839) & Elizabeth RUNCIMAN (b.1841) who married at Dunbar in 1859.
