I'm research Fairbairns in Berwickshire, 19th century. Alexander and Peter Fairbairn, sons of William and Alison Fairbairn, born in 1852 & 1856 in Chirnside. A friend of mine recently attended the Highland Games in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. He's a Henderson. He said at the Henderson Clan tent a woman had a book about Fordell Castle in Fife, and said there were many Fairbairns buried in the crypt beneath the castle, and that Fairbairns are a sept of the Henderson Clan. | know Fairbairns are also a sept of the Armstrong Clan. Had never heard, nor have I seen on any internet source, any hint of a connection between Fairbairns and Hendersons. Can anyone shed any light on this mystery? Thanks in advance.
