When I am finished I will send you a copy. I have, for the most part, tried to deal with those not covered in your grandmother's booklet. I am still trying to verify the mother of Helen Milne, for sure her father was Peter Milne. By the way, I met a lady named Dorothy MacKenzie - your grandmother, Grace, was her school teacher. God bless - Norma

I fit into the Jenking Clan through John Leonard being my father..... he is the one that really stated the quest on then ancesters as of late, and put me to this site. He was looking at the Jenking side and when I found your message, I could not go further without ensuring the book in which was being mentioned was the one I was thinking of. I hope to hear again from you soon, and if you do not mind I will print and pass on all updates to my father. Thank you again for your reply Keven

Your cousin in Blind River, sent me two copies, one for myself and the other I gave to my sister. Penny who lives in NC wished to have a copy so I hope your family didn't mind, I sent her a copy of the one Jim sent me. By the way, another cousin of your's has also been in touch, Ron Greaves. Another Greaves cousin, Joe, married my cousin's daughter, so the circle goes round and round - then another young man has recently come into our lives from the county named Robert Harrow - related through the Ure family, Helen Dixon (Aunt Nell) my grandfather Charles' sister married David Ure and their son Frederick Irvin married Dora Sedgwick another of my cousins, and Flora Grace Fairbairn a cousin on my mother's maternal side married William Dixon Ure. Penny was very helpful with those Fairbairns who moved to the western states. Now I kn! ow that Grace Elizabeth Fairbairn married John Harland Jenking, and that they had four children: Ruth Ann, Mary E., Nelson David & John Leonard - where do you fit in the Jenking scheme of things. Cousin Norma

    2. My mother-in-law was a Fairbairn and through her we have a family tree prepared by a kind Australian cousin taking us back to John b.1563 thru to most of the AngloScottish and Australian branches to 1984. Where it's abit sketchy is with the American and Canadian branches which seem to start with John b.1714 d.1797 m.1st 1748 Lucy Eadster and 2nd.1754 Helen Anderson. He had the folowing children: Robert b.1749 d.1829 m.1772 Thomas b.1751 John b.1753 d.1830 m.1776 Elizabeth Yule. To Canada 1824 Walter b. & d.1755 William b.1756 d.1809 m.1782 Margaret Thomson Andrew b.1758 d.1844 m.1783 Margaret Henderson (Baronets line) and Peter b.1760 d.1823 m.1783 From what I know some of the Canadian branch have also gone to Buffalo and on to San Francisco and some of William snd Margaret's descendents have gone to Minnesota (Mao Clinic?). Have other bits of info for those lines but it would be good to try and build a complete family tree for the Fairbairns descended from John b.1563 in Ednam Alasdair

    1. Fairbairns in Cadder or Maryhill or Stirlingshire.
    2. Dear Researchers, I am looking for any information regarding the Fairbains in Scotland but in particular, around the Glasgow area or Campsie. my Mother Jane Fairbairn born 1888 in Cadder was the daughter of Thomas Fairbairn and Margaret Gilfillan or Jolly. Margaaret Gilfillan was married to a man called Jolly from the same area I think and then , when widowed married Thomas Fairbairn. who was a Master Carpenter. Thomas Fairbairn brought a son Thomas , born about 1875, to the second marriage. They went on to have William born 1879 George, Elizabeth &Jane . Thomas and George went on to have various Dairy businesses in the Maryhill area.William went to South Africa. Any information would be appreciated. jean@jdonald77.fsnet.co.uk Jean.

    3. Searching for ancestors of John Robert Wood FAIRBAIRN and Edgar DAVIDSON. JRWF was believed born 1888 in Walkerburn, Peebleshire. He was a Power Loom Turner by trade. Edgar DAVIDSON (the name is right, although unusual for a female) was born in Innerlethen, date unknown. There is a record in the 1881 Census of an Edgar DAVIDSON b1850/1 in Gala to James DAVIDSON (b1828/9 Galashiels, SEL) and Jean (b1830/1 Gordon BEW). This Edgar was born too early to be mine, and so far i haven't managed to prove a connection yet. John & Edgar married 31 Dec 1909 in Walkerburn Parish Church. They had at least one son, Ronald Wood FAIRBAIRN b 3 May 1910. Any help would be appreciated. Nige Fairbairn
