I am curious though, do you know why they changed the spelling so much back & forth from Fagan to Phagan? My Mother & Grand-Mother did the same thing. I was always puzzled by why they would do that. The only Fagan name I have is Harvey Parker, I don't know his Mothers or Fathers or if he had brothers or sisters..only that he was born in Tishomingo Okla about 1981-85 & died I think in Shreveport, La. married my g-Mother Norma/Nona, had one child Geraldine in 1921 Sorry I wasn't more help, Jan --WebTV-Mail-23732-4636 Content-Disposition: Inline Content-Type: Message/RFC822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Received: from smtpinvite-2001-1.public.lawson.webtv.net (172.16.213.201) by storefull-2374.public.lawson.webtv.net with WTV-SMTP; Wed, 27 Nov 2002 14:44:21 -0800 (PST) Received: from lists2.rootsweb.com (lists2.rootsweb.com [207.40.200.39]) by smtpinvite-2001-1.public.lawson.webtv.net (WebTV_Postfix+sws) with ESMTP id 24EE6FE01; Wed, 27 Nov 2002 14:44:17 -0800 (PST) Received: (from slist@localhost) by lists2.rootsweb.com (8.12.4/8.12.4) id gARMhRsV008713; Wed, 27 Nov 2002 15:43:27 -0700 Resent-Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 15:43:27 -0700 X-Original-Sender: AAWC5@aol.com Wed Nov 27 15:43:27 2002 From: AAWC5@aol.com Message-ID: <195.114c9230.2b16a48b@aol.com> Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 17:43:23 EST Subject: Re: [FAGAN] Martha + Elisha WEBSTER VT dau. My original ancestor, Phillip Phagan was in Augusta, Va. around 1750. He married in 1763, Martha Newman and moved to Newberry, S. C., then on to Pendleton Dist, S. C. He son, Moses Phagan was my gggrandfather. He and his two sons, James and Philip, moved to north Ga., White Co. about 1810. James reverted back to the Fagan spelling and had a son named Moses (2) who was my great grandfather. His son, General Alvin Fagan who married Harriet Eliza Bowen, around 1886, in White, Ga. were my grandparents. Their son Claud Vanderbilt Fagan was my dad. He was born 1888, white, Ga. Sorry, I don't believe any of this could tie into your line.
