I'm beginning (again) the search for my great grandfather's origins. The man seemingly appeared out of nowhere in the 1900 Jackson County, Mississippi census. He is listed as: Henry Fagan born: Louisiana mother: England father: Louisiana age: 54 born: Jan. 1846 A newspaper column tells us he married Mary Louise Ashbee (Ashby) of Mobile, AL in Jackson Co., MS on 4-04-1884 Oral family history suggests he built a new home in the Creoletown area of what is now Pascagoula, MS, which was a mixed race area. I have no idea if this information is of any consequence. It does seem unusual considering the times. Any information or advice toward finding his roots are very welcome. Thank you, Ray Fagan Pascagoula, MS No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 9.0.733 / Virus Database: 271.1.1/2721 - Release Date: 03/03/10 13:34:00
