    3. Hello All, I am forwarding this to all my lists. Please read it as this is from rootsweb. Like many of you, I am still in disbelief that this has occured. We are still in a state of morning and will be for some time. I have cried, been angry and felt every emotion in between. Although I was fortunate, I know many of us were not. They need our love, prayers and support. I also admire those that have given of themselves in the rescue and recovery efforts.....they have my respect. They are going thru a lot and the affects of this will be with them for the rest of their lives. They are also in need of our support, love and prayers. As much I regret, I must close the list to this off-topic discussions. I will starts this on Monday morning so that any of you that wish to express some final thoughts may do so. 1. [FAGAN] Delaware Fagan line
    2. Sharon Stroud
    3. I am trying to locate anyone who might connect to a Thomas & Susan Fagan of New Castle, Wilmington, Delaware. They had a son John, who I think was my great great grandfather. He died rather young and I have no concrete info on him. I'm not positive that their son, John Fagan, is the one who was married to my gggrandmother but, it is the only line I have been able to trace. My John Fagan was married to Ida Mae Kelly/Kelley and had two daughters, Elsie & Ethel. Ida is shown as widowed 4 years on the 1900 census, so I am putting John's death around 1896. I found a death record for a John Fagan February 1896 but don't know for sure if it is MY John Fagan. Ida was probably pregnant with Ethel at the time of John's death. I have more info to help cement a connection and will furnish it upon request. But at this point I would just like to make contact with any Wilmington Delaware Fagan family member. Are there any of you out there? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Sharon I can also be reached at sqs17@hotmail.com

    3. Hello to everyone I am posting my FAGAN's in hope that I find a bit of a connection - please! The only information I have is from the 1881 census: Living in Cedar street, Bolton Elizth FAGAN, mother born in Caithness (I was told by my gran that her husband was William FAGAN) Children at that time: Arthur age 21, Annie age 24, Elizth age 19, Barbara age 10 - all state born in Liverpool. This family, I believe came out to South Africa at some stage, as my grandmother was born in SA during 1897. Although they are not at that address at 1891 census. Any help would be appreciated as I've lost track of them? Thank you Janis Currie Pinetown, Natal, South Africa

Son of Michael Fagan, b. abt. 1829 in County Meath, Ireland and died March 1872 in Conception, Nodaway Co., MO. Mother was Margaret (Maggie) Lane Fagan, b. abt. 1834 in County Cork, Ireland and died Oct. 1926 in Conception, Nodaway Co., MO. Family has recorded that Michael (Michaelis) moved to Colorado and had a large family. However, in his mother, Maggie's obit, it states Michael living in Spokane, WA. Children of Michael and Maggie Lane Fagan: Mary Ann, b. Feb. 24, 1859 Catherine, b March 1, 1860 Bridget, b. Aug. 28, 1861 James John, b. Oct. 17, 1862 Thomas, b. May 7, 1865 Juliana, b. Aug. 24, 1867 Michael, b. Sept. 26, 1870 In a history of the first settlers of Conception, the author states that Michael (elder) came from the neighborhood of Oldcastle. It does not make reference to the source of that information. Michael and Maggie migrated to MO from Reading, PA in 1858. Thanks for any input! Kathy in Missouri

    3. Hi List, After doing some checking (browsing the archives) I have found that this is not a very active list. There are currently 77 members on the Fagan list. We need to generate some activity! I am going to ask for a Roll Call. Please include as much information you have to include dates, places, etc. This will make a connection easier. Have any of you looked at spelling variations? My ancestors (more recent) used Feagans but have seen it as Feagins, Fagans, Feagan, etc. I really couldn;t find much until I started looking into the spelling variations. I still find much difficulty with this surname. Also, if anyone knows a little history about the name, origins, etc that would be great too. What do you think about adding some of the history and culture when our Fagan ancestors lived? Let me know what you think about this one........I'm trying to come up with some ways for some activity. Please e-mail me privately on this subject and I will posts the results. Thanks, Lisa List Admin
