    3. Hi Researchers, This is an update below. I'm a descendant of Sir James FAGAN and my line emigrated from Ireland to Conn., to Mass., to N.H., to VT. Hope to hear from some FAGAN cousins. Jan in VT ================================== LYDIA WEBSTER B. JUNE 28, 1786, STRATFORD, COOS COUNTY, NH D. FEB 16, 1847 GUILFORD, WINDHAM, VERMONT FATHER:  ELISHA WEBSTER, SR.  (THIS GED COM DOESN'T LIST HIS PARENTS) B. SOUTHINGTON, CT NOV. 22, 1758  D. JUNE 16, 1818 BRUNSWICK, ESSEX, VERMONT. MARTHA CLIFFORD WAS THE CHILD OF GREENLEAF CLIFFORD and SUSAN FAGAN. Would you like the FAGAN HISTORY? NOTES FOR SIR JAMES FAGAN, MY ANCESTOR: The Fagan family originated in Feltrim, Co. Dublin, Irl. The ancestral castle, known as "Bullock," still stands. After some political conflicts, the family lost the castle and everyone was reduced to living in manor houses (hardly a drastic fate). James Fagan (our ancestor) regained favor with the Crown by becoming a land speculator both in the British Isles and here in the Colonies. He married Mary Bernard in Malahide, County Dublin, 16 Jun 1720, and purchased a manor in Glencullen (also in Dublin), where they made their home for a decade or so; after which they let the house and moved to an even more ostentatious residence in Ashford, County Wicklow, Ireland. By 1750, they sold all of their property on Irish soil and travelled throughout Scotland and England for about 5 years, during which time James continued in land speculation and was knighted. They came to the Colonies in 1755 with a monetary worth and social status that would place them among the Vanderbilts or Asters of more recent years. All of James and Mary's children eventually came to the U.S. James was granted land by his father-in-law in Ct., Mass., and what is now Riverton Twp., Jefferson, N.H. The earlier generations that came to the States seldom appear in census records. They moved around a great deal and did not make themselves particularly accessible to people outside of their immediate circle (including census-takers and anyone who did not swear unconditional allegiance to Great Britain during and after the Revolution). Mary (Bernard) Fagan's relative, Rev. George Whitefield, came to New Hampshire under James Fagan's auspices. ================================= SUSAN FAGAN AND GREENLEAF CLIFFORD INFO SUSAN FAGAN B. 3. Hello listers, i like to find the Fagan-Family (linked to Boddeker and Winkelhahn) of Galveston. Angela Boddeker married John Paul Fagan on Nov. 21st, 1895 in Galveston Texas. John Paul Fagan born 29.9.1870 Key West, Monroe Co. Fl. christ 23.10.1870 Key West, Monroe Co. Fl. died 17.1.1953 Galveston, Galveston Co. Tx buried 19.1.1953 The 1900 Texas Census shows: "Fagan, John-head of household, W, M, 29, Sept 1870, Florida *listed as a cigar maker *listed as being married for 5 years Mary-wife, W, F, 25, Feb 1875, Texas Mary E.- daughter, W, F, 2, Feb 1898, Texas John Paul- son, W, M, Sept 1899" Father: Stanislaus Fagan, Mother: Mary Ann Warren They had 7 or 8 children: Mary Elizabeth Angela Fagan Born 12.11.1897 Galveston Christ 28.11.1897 Galveston Died 6.1.1962 Galveston Buried 8.1.1962 John Paul Fagan Born 11.9.1899 Galveston Christ 1.10.1899 Galveston Died 3.6.1901 Galveston Stanislaus Joseph Fagan Born 1.12.1900 Galveston Christ 23.12.1900 Galveston Died 12.1.1976 Galveston Buried 14.1.1976 William Arthur Fagan Born 20.9.1902 Galveston Christ 5.10.1902 Galveston Died 7.11.1942 Galveston Buried 11.11.1942 Ferdinand Bernard Fagan Born 26.6.1904 Galveston Died 24.4.1907 Galveston Angela Elizabeth Fagan Born 25.5.1906 Galveston Died 9.4.1965 Galveston Buried 12.4.1965 Galveston Joseph Anthony Fagan Born 31.1.1908 Galveston Died 26.10.1987 Lake Charles, Louisiana The Fagan-Family is linked to Boddeker, which lived next door, as the 1900 Texas Census shows: "Boddeker, Joseph- head of household, W, M, 22, Jan 1878, Texas *listed as a cigar maker Mary- daughter, W, F, 14, Aug 1885, Texas Ferdinand- son, W, M, 11, May 1889, Texas Elizabeth- mother, W, F, 50, Jan 1850, Germany *listed as being a widow *listed as having 4 children with 4 still alive." And this takes us to Elisabeth Winkelhahn (Boddeker). She married John J. Boddeker, who probably died in 1895. They lived in Galveston, where their children were born: Angela Boddeker (Fagan) born 20.2.1875 Galveston christ 20.3.1875 Galveston died 14.8.1955 Galveston buried 16.8.1955 Galveston Joseph Anthony Ferdinand Boedecker born 27.1.1878 Galveston christ 20.2.1878 Galveston James Rock Cornelius Boedecker born 16.8.1883 Galveston christ 6.9.1883 Galveston Mary Elizabeth Boddeker born 9.8.1885 Galveston christ 20.10.1885 Galveston Francis Ferdinand Boddeker born 9.5.1889 Galveston christ 19.6.1889 Galveston (Dates are written: DD MM JJJJ) Maybe there is a chance to find a link to other researchers databases, maybe there is a chance to get in touch with the descendants. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your attention! freundliche Grüße aus Berlin gregor winkelhahn

    3. Dear All: Some volunteers from the society of the Daughters of the American Revolution ( DAR) have established a wonderful new program for users of Rootsweb. These volunteers will do lookups in their database and records if you think one of your ancestors served in some capacity during the American Revolution. These volunteers have more databases that are available to them than the ones commonly used by the search engines. The process is fairly simple : Go to the DAR message board: There are two ways to do that: www.rootsweb.com message boards topics organizations and societies DAR Or if you want the easy way :-) http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=topics.organizations.dar Address your message as follows: subject : DAR Lookup > surname> location > dates In the body of the message put the information regarding the person, Be sure to fill out the surnames box at the bottom since the new search engine will be keying on that item. Leave the email response box checked and you will be notified when the DAR volunteers respond . Give them a week or so to get to your request. We really appreciate their efforts. This info can be key for: a: joining these prestigious organizations ( DAR & SAR) b: sending a request for the copies of the files that were submitted and the information they have available. Many thanks to: Glenda Thompson DAR VIS Volunteer Vice Chrm. Patriot Lookup for organizing this effort and all the many volunteers that are donating their time and effort to us instead of pursuing their own ancestors, Best Regards John A Hansen DAR board admin. BTW: Please forward this message to other lists and boards that each of you are involved in. A word of thanks to each volunteer that does this work and especially the one that responds to your post would probably be highly appreciated.
