Michael, thank you for your reply. My Fagan/Feagan family has been here since the late 1700's for sure but I believe they're originally from Ireland also. From what I've found in my research, their trail comes down from South Carolina, Georgia, then settling in Alabama. Many descendants are still along the Clarke Co./ Wayne Co., Mississippi, & Choctaw Co., Alabama borders yet some of us are scattered to the 4 corners & everywhere in between. Hi, my earliest ancestor was Phillip Phagan/Fagan who was probably born around 1730 and migrated to America, I believe around 1750. I found him Augusta, Va. around that time. He got a land grant from the King of England and went by wagon train to Berkerly Co., S. C.
Joyce: My Fagan families are from Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath. In the early 1800s there were about 80 Fagan families in Co Westmeath. I would look there for your Fagans.
