    3. Michael, thank you for your reply. My Fagan/Feagan family has been here since the late 1700's for sure but I believe they're originally from Ireland also. From what I've found in my research, their trail comes down from South Carolina, Georgia, then settling in Alabama. Many descendants are still along the Clarke Co./ Wayne Co., Mississippi, & Choctaw Co., Alabama borders yet some of us are scattered to the 4 corners & everywhere in between. Three descendants of George Fagan, Sr. live here in Mesa, Arizona. Anita Fagan Heyd Michael P. 2. Hi, my earliest ancestor was Phillip Phagan/Fagan who was probably born around 1730 and migrated to America, I believe around 1750. I found him Augusta, Va. around that time. He got a land grant from the King of England and went by wagon train to Berkerly Co., S. C.

    2. Joyce: My Fagan families are from Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath. In the early 1800s there were about 80 Fagan families in Co Westmeath. I would look there for your Fagans. Let me know how you make out, who knows, we might have a connection. Betty Lou Garcia NJ I am descended from Thomas Fagan/Fagin (Abt 1820-1896) who married Jane Smart (1820 - ?) The Fagin's and Smarts immigrated to Ontario, Canada June 1846. I have not been able to find any births marriages for them anywhere in Ireland. They are supposed to have been from County Down. The Thomas Fagin family later moved to the USA in 1879. Jane Smart's parents were Samuel Smart & Martha Porter. Thomas & Jane had one son Thomas Jr. born in Ireland with the rest of the children born in Canada.
