Don, Nancy Ann Windsor Was my 3rd great grandmothers sister. They both married a John Evans. I have no info on him other then I was told he was not related to my John Evans. Nancy and Elizabeths parents were William Windsor Jr. and Parthenia Connaway, < Parthenia's last name is spelled several different ways. Would not this other John belong to the Colonel Evans or the boat capt. Evans?? Roger ps Paul Thorn has a great paper on site that does cover some of this. --- On Mon, 12/13/10, Don <dhr1953@hotmail.com> wrote: > From: Don <dhr1953@hotmail.com> > Subject: Re: [EVANS-RICHARD] Another possible puzzle! > To: evans-richard@rootsweb.com > Date: Monday, December 13, 2010, 10:20 AM > Well, after stirring the pot over the > children of Elizabeth (Hall) Evans, > Kingsbury - where we may never know with certainty the > children of Richard > Evans and the children of James Kingsbury, I hesitate to > open another > possible can of worms. > > I have a JOHN EVANS with birth of circa 1785 as son of John > (circa 1756 - > circa 1832) & Elizabeth Raver (circa 1766 - circa 1850) > and married (circa 1 > Jan 1814) to Nancy Windsor, no descending family or other > information. > > NOW - I also have a JOHN EVANS birth of circa 12 Nov 1785 > (no parentage) > death of 12 Aug 1834 in Green Twp, Ross Co., OH. married on > 23 Feb 1809 in > Monongalia Co., Virginia (VA marriages 1740-1850) to Sarah > Miller born circa > 11 Jul 1792 in Green Twp., Ross Co., OH. and died same on > 22 Feb 1840, > complete with family descendants. > > Can anyone shed any light on this? Well, this John Evans may not link to the Richard Evans family of Maryland through the Evans line but does link through his marriage - - AND THAT IS WHY I have brought this subject up. The woman he married, Sarah Miller, on 23 Feb 1809, in Virginia, is descended of Abraham Miller 1st & Elizabeth Pigman - Elizabeth Pigman (believed to have been born in Washington Co., PA. in 1772) is the daughter of Jesse Pigman & Sarah Lucas - Sarah Lucas is the daughter of Charles Lucas Sr. and Elizabeth Evans - Elizabeth Evans is the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Evans of Maryland. This Richard & Elizabeth Evans being the (I think) earliest proven progenitors of our Evans family in America. This Miller - Evans line is on my family tree and while the families took different routes to get there, many settled in Ohio before descending family pushed on westward. Continuing to cross trails and events taking place in similar places, causes me to wonder if there is still documents out there that may connect a lot of this family that at present do not connect. It could just be a migration trail taken by the progressive push westward that brought these families together. But, perhaps being a nostalgic romantic, I look at them as a possible reconnect of the family blood line.
