Did James Evans [son of Richard Evans and Mary Mabrey] marry Daniel Boone's daughter,Selah (Celia)? Anyone know for sure one way or the other? Renee ps the list is sure quiet and no one seems to have taken up my offer to try to straighten out the children of Samuel 1691
This James is my 3rd ggrandfather. He first married Sarah Meek and she bore him five children, one was William, my 2nd ggrandfather. They traveled to Clark County, and mid-to-late 1800 Sarah died and James quickly acquired a new helpmate by marrying Selah/Celia (born 17 jun 1784) on 23 dec 1800. She was young and healthy and by sep 1801, the first of 5 children in this new family had arrived. Selah (d. 1835, Scott Co., IL) and James d. 1840, Brown Co., IL. James' father-in-law was not Daniel, it was Joseph Scholl. It was Joseph's wife, Lavinia, who was daughter to Daniel Boone and his wife Rebecca Bryan. Daniel was grandfather to Selah. Alice Let me know in case this still doesn't make sense..... ________________________________ From: Evans-Richard List Administrator <listadministratorevans@earthlink.net> To: "OURevans-richard@rootsweb.com" <evans-richard@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wed, December 1, 2010 5:17:53 AM Subject: [EVANS-RICHARD] Daniel Boone's daughter Did James Evans [son of Richard Evans and Mary Mabrey] marry Daniel Boone's daughter,Selah (Celia)?
