So, your records indicate there are two paralleling John Evans with slight difference in vital dates, married to different women, and have at least some children by approximately the same name with about the same vital statistics. I found this One World Tree family listing that was pretty much matching the family lines on the Evans web site families of Renee's group until I got to the parents of Dorcas Evans that married John Snider and then it all fell to pieces. They had a John Evans as her father but it is the one I list below that you refer to as Col. John Evans and her mother was Rebecca Ann Martin. So, I guess these people must have lost the trail there and got the two families mixed up. Is that right? Yes, I think that they may possibly be mixed up. I have Col John Evans and Rebecca Ann Martin's marriage date as Mar 24, 1758 in Eastern, Virginia.
