Richard Swan, the son of Charles and Sarah (Van Meter) Swan, evidently was born 14 Sept. 1796 and died 29 Dec. 1873. He married Susannah Gregg, not Catherine Barber (unless that was a subsequent marriage). It appears that we may have two different Swan / Swann families.
