I also have Lumbee ancestry from my Evans side of the family- Shoemake and Chavers I think. I know that at one time I had ancestors living in South Carolina around the Pee Dee River, but I don't know about North Carolina. The family eventually settled around the AL/TN border. I'll have to take a closer look and refresh my memory about the Chavers' and Evans'. It gets pretty confusing with the lines crossing and the same names being repeated.
