Allan, I'm sure that my Rebecca Evans is not the same as yours. However, I'm interested in the names and wonder if there might be a connection somewhere. Perhaps someone else on the list knows. My Rebecca Evans was the daughter of Alexander and Rebecca (Wooten) Evans (married Oct. 7, 1809). They had a daughter named Rebecca. I know my Evans family married into the Marion family of NC. All of this took place in Surry County, North Carolina. I've heard that we are related to "Swamp Fox" (Francis Marion) of Rev. War fame. I also know that some of my Evans married into the Mitchell family, but that has been in more recent generations - to my knowledge. Therefore, I was interested in the name "Francis Marion Mitchell" since families often used names of famous relatives. So--does any of this rambling ring any bells to anyone on the list. I hope so.
