It makes me think about my father's brother, born in the early 1900s but died young. My grandparents named him Cortez and I have to this day never heard WHERE that name originated. My father used to tell me we had Indian blood but I have never found that connection yet. My EVANS line starts in the 1790s in Georgia, when my ggg grandfather Turner Evans was born. My gg grandfather John A. Evans migrated by covered wagon from GA to Louisiana in the mid 1800s. I have yet to find the confirmed parents of Turner Evans. So the 1790s is as far back as I go.
