This antique Bible features the Evans family, from Kentucky and Indiana. It is the most wonderful family Bible I have come across, because it not only has handwritten records, but photos of family that are labelled. Usually when you find something like this, the photos are unlabelled, leaving you to wonder who is who -- not so, with this fine document. There is also a handwritten page with more genealogical information on it. This is an absolute treasure trove of information for the right person, and it is in excellent condition. I'm sure at one point that there were latches, but that is the only thing missing from this Bible. It has a tight spine, the gold is bright, and the pages are excellent, as well. There are a few full page illustrations in black and white. Also included is a newspaper clipping about some of the family members mentioned in the Bible. Names mentioned: The front of the Bible says, in gold, "Presented to S.W. Evans, by his father." I presume that this is Simpson Evans, mentioned in the writings. The facing page has the handwritten name Daniel D. Evans, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Some of the names or photos in the records: EVANS: Daniel, Simpson, Lewis, Evelyn, Oscar Elgin, Morris, Mary, Nannie, Allie, Eugene Stanley, and more. Other names mentioned: Nannie Durham, Sallie Ann WoXXXXX, Kingery, Lochtefeld, Hardin, Evans, Minnie Blount, Slara DeLoise Evans, wife of Cyril Lochtefeld, and more.
