Shirley, My Evans line migrated from KY to IN to IA. The earliest Evans I found was Charles J., on some censuses he was found as C.J. Born 1828 somewhere in KY, died 1908 IA. Oldest child was born somewhere in MO. Could there possibly be a connection between your line & mine? Perhaps we could be distant, distant cousins but the places & names don't jibe.
