It lists Hugh Evans b. 1834 Washington Co Indiana d.1913 Fontanell, Adair Co Iowa He married Susan C.Davis b. 1839 ? d. 19 Aug 1916 buried Old Union Cemetery Richland township Adair Co. Iowa Her parents are listed as George A Davis & Martha Dickenson. Their children starting in 1862 are Flora, George,William, Martha, Adela, Jenny, Sulvia, Nancy, Hannah, Donnie, Sylvania b. 1876 all in Iowa. I met some of the decendents of these people at an Evans reunion in Winterset Ia. in 2006. They still live in Adair Ia. I'm assuming the Susan Hugh married was born in In. My Evans lived near Salem & New Pekin In. from 1808 til 1848 when they went to Iowa. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, September 06, 2008 7:52 AM Subject: Re: [EVANS] Evans Family of PA Greetings Shirley. Thanks for communicating with me. For a moment there I thought I had found one of my Davis cousins. I have been researching for 10 years now and have not found a connection with the DAVIS descendants. I know that they are out there somewhere. How did you trace their migration. If your Davis ancestors were slaves, how did you locate their slave holders since there were so many European Davis in Virginia. In a message dated 9/5/2008 5:04:36 P.M. Perhaps we could be distant, distant cousins but the places & names don't jibe.
